You’ve (probably) heard about this before: how the rise in digital technology has clearly disrupted the music industry over the last 15 years. How the entities in this business (artists, managers, labels, etc.) have spent a large part of the past decade and a half scrambling to adjust. But in recent years, a new type of A&R has emerged to help bridge the gap.

No, this breed of A&R rep isn’t searching for the next “big thing.” Instead, they’re essentially facilitating the relationship between their clients and music-tech companies. Or, put more simply, figuring out the best digital avenues for exposing the artists they represent to more potential fans.
