SXAméricas Announces Sessions, Showcases & More!

SXSW 2014 Artist: Ana Tijoux

Spotlighting the international creative stage, SXSW announces programming for SXAméricas, a series of events geared to connecting U.S. Latino, Latin American and Spanish technology, music, and film industry thought leaders. SXAméricas will serve as the launch pad to network and share innovative ideas, providing an opportunity for attendees to create new partnerships across all creative industries from the Américas.

Quite a few showcases, conference sessions and films centered around Latin American culture are happening at SXSW 2014, Monday, March 10 - Saturday, March 15! As part of our Convergence programming, SXSW Interactive, Film and Music registrants are welcome to attend the SXAméricas Opening Party on Tuesday, March 11. Beginning on Wednesday, March 12, SXSW Platinum and Music registrants will be able to attend a series of Latino-focused speeches and roundtable discussions at the Austin Convention Center.

The SXAméricas Opening Party will feature opening remarks from Diego Luna, the director of a new narrative film chronicling the life of civil rights leader Cesar Chávez. The film, titled Cesar Chávez, is set for its North American premiere at the SXSW 2014 Film Festival on Monday, March 10th at the Paramount Theatre (713 Congress Ave). The film will be open to SXSW Platinum, Gold and Film registrants.

The SXAmérica Opening Night Party will take place at Brush Square Park on Tuesday, March 11th beginning at 4:30PM. Brush Square Park is located across 4th Street on the north side of the Austin Convention Center. More information below!
