Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel

The city of Chicago was already planning to have a huge presence at SXSW 2014 - now it will be even bigger.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Michelle T. Boone, Commissioner of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, will be having a SXSW Conversation as part of our Convergence programming on Tuesday, March 11 at 3:30PM in Austin Convention Center Ballroom D. Groupon co-founder Brad Keywell will moderate the conversation.

In 2012, the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events launched a plan to guide the city’s future cultural and economic growth. The goal of this initiative was to establish Chicago as a global destination for creativity, innovation and excellence in the arts. Visit ChicagoMade.us for more information.

Rahm Emanuel and Michelle T. Boone will discuss the impact and the success of their plan so far during this special SXSW Conversation. This session will be open to all badge types.
