Some Hotels Sold Out - Many Great Options Still Available

As expected, downtown hotels for SXSW Interactive & Film dates have sold out at a record pace. The waitlist for downtown hotels also filled quicker than expected and that waitlist has closed for Interactive & Film dates. (SXSW Housing is still working hard to send all the confirmations for the thousands of rooms requested last week - if you have not received your hotel or waitlist confirmation yet you should expect to see that very soon.)

If you were unable to secure your preferred downtown hotel don't worry, there are still plenty of excellent hotel options on the shuttle route for SXSW registrants. Whether you're looking for full-service properties or budget-friendly alternatives the Housing Desk can help find the right property for you.

Similar to years past, all Austin-area hotels are expected to sell out well before March. Smart attendees will secure a great hotel on the shuttle route now, while a variety of options remain. Shuttle passes will go on sale in the near future -- see our SXSW shuttle page for updates on the shuttle as they become available.

SXSW Music attendees can still find good downtown hotels available and the downtown waitlist is still open for Music dates. To get on a wait list to fill last-minute cancellations we may receive in February 2014, submit hotel or wait-list requests via their SXsocial page or Shopping Cart. If you wait list for a downtown hotel you cannot book a “back-up” hotel through SXSW Housing.
