The SXSW Eco 2013 Food and Agriculture program spanned the gamut from slow food to high tech. We hosted an array of expert activists, farmers, ranchers and advocates who discussed the logistics and successes of small-scale farms and ranches, natural crop rotations and community-sourced agriculture. On the other hand, we heard how new innovations in technology are poised to disrupt the food system and transform the future of food for our ever-increasing global population. A crowd favorite was the session titled American Meat, where filmmaker Graham Meriwether and participants in his documentary of the same title explored the fascinating future of the US ranching industry.
