SXSW Workshops: Everything You Need to Know to Be Part of This Programming

Written by Nanci Lancaster | February 27, 2014

So much excellent workshop programming at SXSW 2014

Workshops at SXSW Interactive run slightly different than our other types of programming. What follows is short breakdown on the need-to-know to be a successful Interactive workshop attendee.

ADMISSION. Anyone with an Interactive, Gold, or Platinum badge can signup to attend any SXSW Interactive workshop. No extra fees incurred; these sessions are included in the price of your badge.

LENGTH. Unlike the 60-minute timeframe of nearly all of our other sessions, SXSW Interactive workshops have three different timeframes to choose from: 2.5, 4, and 8 hours long. When planning your schedule, keep these extended hours in mind.

ADVANCE SIGNUP. Signing up in advance is required to attend. All other sessions, aside from mentors and a small amount of select panels, do not require any type of advance signup. If you do not have a confirmed seat to a SXSW Interactive workshop, you most likely will not be able to attend as capacity is quite limited. To see what's currently available and to save your spot, go here. For any full workshops you wish to attend, simply add yourself to the wait list. You will be notified via email once space opens up and you're automatically added to the workshop.

PREREQUISITES. After signing up to the workshops of your choice, take extra note of the prerequisites and what to bring to each workshop to be best prepared.

LOCATION. SXSW Interactive workshops are located at the AT&T Conference Center. To get there, simply hitch a ride on the SXSW Interactive shuttle from the Austin Convention Center. No need to walk or take a taxi!

That's it! Just follow these guidelines to have a successful experience with this year’s incredible lineup of SXSW Interactive workshops. Finally, should you have any workshop-related questions or concerns, feel free to email us at any time.
