On Friday, March 7, the 2014 SXSW Interactive Festival begins at more than 10 different venues in and around downtown Austin. Why so many different spots? With more than 800 sessions at this year’s event, we simply can’t get all the content into one space. But all the best content occurs at the Austin Convention Center, right? This is absolutely not true! Top-notch content is equally distributed throughout the 2014 venue system.
If venue-related trivia interests you, then know that the northern-most venue is the AT&T Conference Center (which houses all the workshop programming). Meanwhile, the two southern-most venues for 2014 are the Palmer Events Center (home of the SXSW Gaming Expo) and the Long Center (host to gaming-related content, as well as SXSW Create). Most of these venues are located within relatively easy walking distance of each other. Or, make use of the free SXSW Interactive Venue Shuttles to speed from one location to another. Visit the Venues & shuttles page to learn more about these locations and the buses that connect them.
