PBS CEO Paula Kerger talked about her network's approach at SXSW

SXSW PanelPicker voting closed last week and we're all waiting to see what sessions get selected for 2014. So what now? How about catching up on last year's podcasts. Thank goodness I am because I just hit the podcast jackpot with PBS' Digital Evolution! CEO Paula Kerger not only reminds us of all the wonderful programming that PBS has to offer to every age group, but more importantly, how important it is to have a channel whose mission is to educate, engage, and inspire. By creating unique programming and interactive digital content, PBS works hard to bring communities together so we can all share moments online as well as in person. How is this different than programming on other networks? Kerger's brilliant answer to that question: "We treat the people that use our services as citizens and not consumers."

Also, if you're like me and loving the content from last year, then don't forget that we'll announce our first set of programming on Monday, October 14. Be sure to check back on the SXSW website in the next few weeks for more information on this upcoming announcement.
