SXSW is excited to announce the winners of the SXSW Film Scholarship. When asked to write and submit a short 2-minute video about who they were and how they would benefit from attending SXSW, the answers from our winners varied from the opportunity to learn from past filmmakers to being eager to get the inside track on how to get started on a career in Film. Cirque du Soleil Comes to SXSW With Exclusive Show #EVOKE13

We are very excited to be partnering with Cirque du Soleil to present #EVOKE13, a special event at Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater on March 12. In line with the mission of Cirque du Soleil to “invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world,” #EVOKE13 will feature a specially created act by Cirque du Soleil exclusively for SXSW 2013.

Joining Cirque du Soleil, Nerdist Industries founder, comedian, author, podcaster and AMC’s The Talking Dead host, Chris Hardwick will host a roundtable conversation along with cosplayer Meg Turney and Cirque du Soleil representatives. Also performing will be The Divine Fits who released one of 2012’s insanely acclaimed albums, A Thing Called Divine Fits (Merge), which landed on Rolling Stone's '50 Best of 2012' list. The night’s event will conclude with a set from GRAMMY® nominated producer, DJ Sam Spiegel (of N.A.S.A. and Maximum Hedrum).

Taco Bell and Passion Pit Team Up with YOU for Rockumentary

Taco Bell® will be handing the cameras and control over to its fans to film its first-ever Rockumentary starring Passion Pit and Wildcat! Wildcat!, culminating with their live performances during a Feed the Beat® event at this year’s South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals. Through Taco Bell’s social media fan base and a unique partnership with Twitter, the brand will support the creation of an experimental film, Feed the Beat®: SXSW 2013, under the direction of acclaimed documentarian Sam Jones – using footage captured and shared by passionate fans socially and showcasing great music.

SXSW Music International Day Stage The newly minted International Day Stage, located on the fourth floor of the ACC in Ballroom G, will host some of SXSW's most unique and diverse talents from across the globe. These acts will travel thousands of miles from home for their SXSW showcase, and you have a chance to check them out between panels and talks in the corner of the Convention Center. Sit down, relax and enjoy a wide range of artistry and unique acts that you may never see outside of SXSW. Highlights range from Mali's Terakaft Kel Tamasheq to Canada's Shout Out Out Out to Norway's Karpe Diem and much more.

In “Qui’s Corner” get a taste of Paul’s top choices – Cazamance, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, DUK Truck and East Side King.
