Vice is barreling into Austin for SXSW 2013! Their compound, aptly named VICELAND will be an official lounge during SXSW Interactive, with live music every night, and will turn into an official showcasing venue during SXSW Music. Head on down to VICELAND for WiFi, food and drink, meetings, debauchery, quiet time, and some unexpected twists. In Vice's own words: "It's going to melt your face and then your laptop, and anyone else's face or laptop within your vicinity."

VICELAND will be located at 401 East Cesar Chavez. Check out www.vice.com/sxsw and the SXSW schedules for a full list of programming.

Rory Scovel

I listen to Rory Scovel a fair amount vis a vis Doug Loves Movies, and I'm psyched he'll be here for the most excellent SXSW Comedy programming, which I've watched grow from having pretty much my own private Marc Maron show (which was f'ing amazes) into this THING that is big and groovy thanks to Charlie Sotelo who books this stuff like nobody's business.

2013 SXSW Showcasing Band, True Believers

Austin legends True Believers reunite for a special performance at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on Saturday, March 16th. The classic country of Bobby Bare Sr, road sharpened country boogie of Junior Brown, and the dazzling Americana based rock of The Wheeler Brothers round out the bill, with special guests to be announced.

True Believers embraced punk rock's attitude with a rock 'n roll swagger and were unarguably one of the most important acts of the Austin scene in the late 1980's. All five original members will once again share the stage– Alejandro Escovedo, Javier Escovedo, Jon Dee Graham, Denny DeGorio, and Rey Washam.
