In this edition of Venue Views, we go south of Ladybird lake, mere minutes from Downtown Austin to explore the Topfer Theater at ZACH and the Rollins Theater at the Long Center.

The striking Topfer Theatre is a fairly recent addition to Austin's nearly 80 year old icon ZACH, joining the SXSW Film family of venues in 2013. The 420-seat venue will host Red Carpet Premieres and more, and is a great place to grab a bite to eat or a drink.

Or why not make like a local and take a short scenic stroll along Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike trail from downtown, as recommended in Holly Herrick's Learn from a Local?

encore shorts local

The Rollins at the Long Center (pictured right) is located at - yes - the Long Center for the Performing Arts, and a great venue to catch shorts programs, local premieres and encore screenings . The venue is on the Film Festival Shuttle route between downtown and The Topfer Theatre at ZACH, and is also just a short walk from downtown, just south of the river.
