Welcome to Venue Views, a short series of posts highlighting our SXSW Screening Venues.

We begin with The Paramount and Stateside, our historic old movie houses.

Nearly a century old, the Paramount will again host Headliners and red carpet events, including festival opener Chef, as well as selected 24 Beats per Second, Festival Favorites and more.

The Paramount is showing films from Friday, March 7 through Wednesday, March 12, and on Saturday, March 15. It's also a great bet for picking up $10 individual tickets (not including venue fee), 15 minutes before showtime (subject to availability). Need a drink or a snack? The Paramount has two bars, featuring candy, popcorn and other light bites.

Immediately adjacent to the Paramount is the Stateside Theatre (pictured right), a 1935 vintage movie house, fully restored in 2011. For SXSW, this 300 seat venue will include, among other things, Documentary Competition films, Midnighters and some of our edgier Narrative Features.

Browse all the films at the Paramount & Stateside Theatres via our schedule, and head to this page for an overview of all SXSW Film venues. For information on accessing films, see this page.
