SXSW Film Alumni Among Creative Arts Emmy Winners

Written by Jim Kolmar | August 18, 2014

The winners of the Creative Arts Emmys were announced last Saturday, and we're thrilled to reveal that SXSW alumni were among their number.

The mighty COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey won big with four awards. The show was the inaugural premiere screening in our new Episodic category for 2014, based on the legendary series fronted by Carl Sagan.

The stunning title sequence for HBO hit True Detective, designed by Patrick Clair for Elastic, won the Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Design, having previously won at SXSW 2014 for the Excellence in Title Design Award. SXSW is still one of the few platforms to recognize Title Design Sequences, since we launched the award back in 2010.

Episodic screenings and Title Design Awards will both return for SXSW Film 2015, so head to this page and secure your badge now! Read on for the alumni Emmy winners, and head to this page for the full list of winners.
