SXSports speaker Peter GuberA new element for the 2014 event, SXsports has already generated tons of buzz. So who is speaking on this special track of convergence programming?

Today’s exciting installment of the Session Spotlight features SXsports Opening Featured Speaker, Peter Guber, from Mandalay Entertainment. His session, Hunting for Elephants: Creating Enterprise Value in Sports Media will help to kick off SXsports on Friday March 7th at 3:30 PM in Room 18 ABCD of the Austin Convention Center.

SXSW: What kinds of topics will you be covering in this session?

Guber: “Hunting Elephants” : It’s about trying to reach beyond your reach, aspiring to dreams not just goals, and how to manage great risk when taking exponential leaps. In sports, losing is an integral part of winning, and if you cannot manage that attitude, than aptitude alone will not get you there.

SXSW: What excites you most about this session?
Guber:I enjoy raising questions that are not easily answered, and receiving reactions not readily expected.

SXSW: What do you hope to gain from speaking at the inaugural year of SXsports?
Guber: I hope to help set the trajectory for the future of SXsports.

SXSW: If a person attends your session, what will someone know at the end of the session that they did not know at the beginning of the session?
Guber: They will know to value questions more than answers.

SXSW: Tell us something about yourself that is not in your official bio.
Guber: In two weeks I’ll be on my way to Tibet and Nagaland for tiger trekking.

SXSW: What is your favorite movie from the last year and why?
Guber: Gravity , because gravity always works.

SXSW: What inspires your creativity?
Guber: Everything I look at, everyone I meet, and everything I do.

SXSW: What do you do to relax or unwind?
Guber: Climb mountains.
