Capital Metro Airport Bus Service – MetroAirport

During SXSW, Capital Metro will be enhancing frequency on the MetroAirport bus service, operating every 15 minutes throughout the day during the entire SXSW festival. MetroAirport will be the only route traveling along Congress Avenue, offering direct access to many downtown hotels.

Capital Metro – Downtown Detours/Open Stop Information

Due to various street closures and congestion in the downtown area, all Capital Metro downtown routes will be detoured along Guadalupe (southbound) or Lavaca (northbound) from March 8-17.

Additionally, to facilitate service and maintain consistent frequency, Capital Metro will only be picking-up and dropping/off at 8 key stops along the two main streets, Guadalupe and Lavaca. Riders should take note that over 50 stops in the downtown area will be closed. Open stops in downtown will be highly visible along Guadalupe and Lavaca with neon flags that read, “Open Stop.”

Capital Metro – MetroRail Extended Service

Capital Metro will also be extending service on MetroRail March 9 and 11-16, offering additional trips during the midday hours and providing more frequent service, every 34 minutes all day. Our train is popular, so passengers are advised to expect large crowds onboard during peak hours. Cyclists are encouraged to utilize at-station bike racks or our MetroRail bike shelter at Kramer Station. Each bike onboard takes up the space of four riders!

Capital Metro – Late Night Traveling Options

Staying out late? We’ve got option too! Capital Metro will be offering the usual Night Owl and E-Bus service during SXSW and adding service March 14-16.
